Over the last few months we’ve spoken with many people in our community who are frustrated by the decision of Shropshire Conservative’s decision to introduce a booking system for Household Recycling Centres across the county.

This policy is a classic case of using a sledgehammer to crack a nut. The aim is to stop a handful of people from out of the county using our service. The reality is thousands of ordinary Salopians are inconvenienced on a regular basis for little benefit.

More than just that, we’re seeing an uptick in fly-tipping. No wonder given that the County Council has a dismal record on the issue, with whole years going by without a single fine being issued for fly-tipping.

Liberal Democrat councillors are determined to fight this and restore common sense to Shropshire Council.
